A typical aerosol product consists of a product solution
and a propellant which are mixed in a can. The propellant
creates a pressure inside the can, by opening the valve
the mixture is expelled: The product is “sprayed”
as a fine spray which hangs in the air.
Hairspray, deodorants as well as spray paints and varnishes
are common examples.
But also products, that are not sprayed but dispensed
as mousse or gel are aerosol products. Carpet cleaning
mousse or shaving gels are some examples.
An aerosol product is a product in a pressurized
container.
